SALIS (Society for the Advancement of Library and Information Science) is a non-profit professional body established to exchange information and communicate programs to its members.

The SALIS App is developed and maintained by Autolib Software Systems and is offered as a free service exclusively to registered members of SALIS. It allows members to receive official communications, updates, and program notifications.

This policy is intended to inform users about how their data is collected, used, and protected.

The SALIS app collects personal information during the member registration process, including:

• Full name
• Email address
• Mobile number
• Postal address
• Academic qualifications
• Years of experience

Purpose: This data is used only for internal communication between SALIS and its registered members. It is not used for advertising, marketing, or analytics by third parties.

No sensitive data such as financial account numbers, passwords, or biometric data is collected.

By registering for the SALIS app, users explicitly consent to the collection and internal use of their personal data as outlined above.

• Users will be shown a clear disclosure in-app before registration or data collection.

Upon receiving a formal request, user data will be permanently deleted from our records within a reasonable time frame.

Only authorized users (registered SALIS members) can log in to the app using their user ID and password provided at the time of registration.

The SALIS app:

• Does not use third-party SDKs (e.g., for analytics, ads, or social media integration).
• Uses a payment gateway interface only for fee payment, without collecting or storing financial information.

• All collected data is securely stored.
• Access is limited to authorized SALIS personnel.
• There is no internal sharing of data between members or users.
• The app follows best practices for Android security.

This app is intended for users 18 years and older (typically undergraduates and above). Children below 18 are not permitted to register or use the app.

• The app does not include third-party SDKs (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook SDK).
• It provides a secure interface for a third-party payment gateway to allow members to pay membership fees.
• No financial or sensitive payment details are stored in the app.

App usage and log data are accessed only by authorized personnel.

This information is used strictly for internal system diagnostics and improvement.

It is not shared with any external parties or other users.

This app does not use cookies or web trackers of any kind.

The app may contain links to external resources (e.g., book catalogs, publisher sites, academic institutions). SALIS is not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites. Users are advised to review third-party privacy policies before interacting with them.

The app is designed for use only by individuals 18 years and older. Children under 18 are not permitted to register or use the app in any form.
